It’s not only the triumphs of DeShaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence-led sides that will be immortalized in this book. Before the CFP era, the Tigers’ first national title came in 1981, when a victory in the Orange Bowl over Nebraska capped off their third-ever undefeated season. The eighties proved a fruitful decade all around for Clemson, as despite being under ACC probation for the ’83 and ’84 seasons, the Tigers still captured five conference titles.
Now updated with the Tigers winning the ACC Championship in 2024. In recent years, the Clemson Tigers football program has developed into one of the most feared in the entire nation, irrespective of their home games taking place at Death Valley. The Tigers have competed in all of the last six College Football Playoffs, the only team in the country to do so, and went on to capture the National Championship twice, both times by defeating the then-undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide. Relive those triumphs, and many others, via newspaper coverage of the time with our brand new Clemson Football history book, spanning as far back as 1939.
