This coffee-table book features 140 pages of authentic Washington Post newspaper reports about The History of Auburn Tigers College Football. It comes with a choice of covers and the option to have the recipient’s name printed on the cover for free.
Auburn’s second and most recent national title came in 2010, as, led by transferring Quarterback Cam Newton, the Tigers defeated Oregon 22-19 in a close-fought BCS National Championship Game, a last-second field goal eventually proving the difference. It was their first claimed national title for over half a century; the first had come in 1957, under coach Shug Jordan, following a perfect 10-0 season. Auburn University was also the alma mater of multi-sport great Bo Jackson, who won the Heisman Trophy while playing for the Tigers in 1985.
For decades, the Auburn Tigers have been a mainstay of the college football postseason program. The team have played in 44 bowl games in their history, and since the turn of the century have missed only two years. And now, with our brand new Auburn Tigers newspaper history book, you can relive many of those classic games through newspaper reports starting in the 1930s. As well as several other key moments in the history of a team with 16 conference championships and twelve undefeated seasons to their name.
