About this book

Commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War, also known as Guerra de las Malvinas in Argentina, relive the 74 days that gripped the nation. This Falklands War newspaper book brings together news stories as originally reported by The Daily Telegraph.

The Falklands War was a ten-week military conflict between Argentina and the United Kingdom. Fought over two British dependent territories it began on Friday 2nd April 1982 when Argentina invaded and occupied the Falkland Islands in an attempt to establish the sovereignty it had claimed over them.

On 5th April, the British government dispatched a naval task force to engage the Argentine military. The conflict lasted 74 days and ended with the Argentine surrender on 14th June 1982, returning the islands to British control.
