A memorable Baltimore Orioles gift for any fan, whether for a special occasion or to add to their collection. This baseball book features over 140 pages of authentic Washington Post newspaper reports about the history of baseball. It comes with a choice of covers and the option to have the recipient’s name printed on the cover for free.

About this book

The Orioles began playing in Baltimore in 1954, becoming the best team in professional baseball. For the 18 years that followed their move, the team was led by Frank Robinson, Boog Powell, and Cal Ripken Jr., claiming six American League pennants and three World Series titles. They dropped only two games across all three series! The Orioles moved into Oriole Park at Camden Yards, which was the first of the retro-classic ballparks to be built near the turn of the century.

More recently, Lou Gehrig’s record of 2,130 consecutive games was finally broken by Cal Ripken in 1995 – a feat that features in the book. Also included are the playoff years of ’96 and ’97, as well as the 9-6 victory over the New York Yankees in 2012.

This book is filled with newspaper coverage about the team as originally printed in the Washington Post.

Archivist insight: We reproduce these newspaper articles from scan archives. In some cases, there’ll be blemishes and the reproduction quality might not be as clear or precise as it was in the original paper.
