About this book

Fireworks fly as Bruno Mars rocks the MetLife Stadium at halftime. The 12s are free to party – up by 22-0, Broncos misfiring and fumbling, Manning barely able to complete a pass. After 40 years of chasing it, the Seahawks are cruising to their first Super Bowl win. Sometimes sport just serves you up a perfect day.

It may have seemed like a breeze, but the Seattle Seahawks’ triumph at Super Bowl XLVIII took decades of work to achieve. This book goes back to the team’s inception in 1974 to chart their rise to glory, through authentic newspaper reports from the Seattle Times.

Fans can relive the joys of a first playoff appearance in ‘83, Steve Largent’s record-breaking runs, and of course the Legion of Boom’s Super Bowl triumph over the Broncos. There are disappointments along the way too, like the joy of joining the league being doused by a 2-12 debut season, and the loss of Super Bowls XL and XLIX.
