This coffee-table book features over 150 pages of authentic Evening Standard newspaper reports about The Story of the Rolling Stones. It comes with a choice of covers and the option to have the recipient’s name printed on the cover for free.

About this book

It’s autumn, 1961. A fresh-faced 18-year-old stands on Platform 2 at Dartford railway station, clutching some of his favourite blues records. Another young man, carrying a guitar, recognises him from their childhood. They start chatting about their mutual passion for music. Their names are Keith Richards and Mick Jagger.

THIS book is a look back at the six decades that followed, through authentic articles reported in the Evening Standard. It kicks off in 1964, when the Rolling Stones are known as ‘the horrible lot’. The stories chart their rise to becoming rock and roll royalty, and continue up to Jagger and Richards rocking US arenas in their eighties.

Archivist insight: We reproduce these newspaper articles from scan archives. In some cases, there’ll be blemishes and the reproduction quality might not be as clear or precise as it was in the original paper.
