About this book

It’s April 24th, 1954. Wolves fans at Molineux are poised, like greyhounds in the starting boxes – hooting and whistling for the match to end. And end it does. The fans storm the pitch to celebrate a 2-0 win over Tottenham that seals a first league title for Stan Cullis’s men. And to make it even sweeter: it consigns West Brom to second place. 

It's been over seven decades since Johnny Hancocks and Roy Swinbourne’s goals made Wolves champions of England for the first time. This book dives even deeper into the club’s history to give fans a taste of their past glories. (And some recent ones too.) 

These vintage match reports go back to the FA Cup win of 1908, and trace the club’s history right up to the 2023 home wins over both title challengers, Liverpool and Man City. Articles include some of the most iconic players to have worn the old gold and black over the years – from Billy Wright to Steve Bull to Raul Jiminez.
