About this book

It’s 1992. Not a good year for Bristol Rovers. It’s the season they’d go on to finish bottom of the league and suffer relegation to Division Two. But there was that one day: the day when Pirates fans poured gleefully out of Twerton Park, singing in the streets after a 4-0 win over Bristol City. Those are the days that last longest in the memory.

This book charts the history of Bristol Rovers, through match reports written by sports journalists of the day. It takes Pirates fans all the way back to 1913, to read about that season’s FA Cup win over Norwich. The journey to recent seasons includes reports on multiple key promotion and relegation fixtures, and plenty of reports from the fiercest derby day fixtures that went Rovers’ way.
