About this book

Competing from back in 1892, the most thriving period in Maryland football was the 1950s. Under coach Big Jim Tatum, the Terrapins rounded off a perfect 1951 season with a win over Tennessee in the Sugar Bowl. Several selectors have retroactively dubbed the team national champions. Two years later, the team captured their only claimed national title with another perfect season, the only one in the nation that year. The program also had spells of success in the seventies and eighties, winning three straight ACC conference titles in both decades.

Step into the hallowed gridiron with the Maryland Terrapins Football Book, where the past, present, and future collide in a spectacular display of team spirit and everlasting legacy through the words of newspaper reporters from throughout their history.
