This coffee-table book features over 160 pages of authentic Los Angeles Times newspaper reports about The History of California Golden Bears College Football. It comes with a choice of covers and the option to have the recipient’s name printed on the cover for free.
The California Golden Bears football team has represented the University of California-Berkeley since 1886. Our historical newspaper database includes articles from 1915 when the team returned for good after a short hiatus in early 1906. The 1920s saw the first golden age for the Cal Bears as they went 50 straight games without a defeat from 1920 to 1925.
Another highlight in history came in 1947 as Lynn ‘Pappy’ Waldorf became the head coach. Between 1947 – 1950 the Cal teams won 33 consecutive regular seasons, 3 PCC championships, and 3 Rose Bowl berths. More recently, relive the moment when the Golden Bears beat Stanford 27:20 in the 2022/23 season, all told through the words of newspaper reporters of the time.
