Tempers flare under the floodlights at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea and Tottenham staff tussle in the tunnel at full time, in an ugly end to an ill-tempered match. But a hundred miles away, in Leicester, there’s nothing but joy. Cars honk in the streets and fireworks crackle in the sky as Foxes fans start the party. Somehow, their team have become Premier League champions.
The miracle season of 2016 certainly stands out in Leicester’s history. But there are plenty of other highlights – including three League Cup wins, the 2021 FA Cup, and even a victory in the 1971 Charity Shield that featured neither the league champions nor the FA Cup winners.
This book walks fans through the history of the Foxes, from 1906 to recent seasons. Through authentic match reports, fans can travel back to the club’s time in the second tier in the 1910s – and to the season of 1928-29 when the Foxes came agonisingly close to the league title they would eventually win 87 years later.
