About this book

While the franchise joined the Major Leagues in 1977, they would wait until nearly the end of the century to experience their main period of success. 1995 was the year of their historic Division Series win over the Yankees and in 2001, the team reached the postseason four times, with future Hall of Famers Randy Johnson and Ken Griffey Jr. as part of the team. However, their current playoff drought is the longest of any Big Four franchise. Their last trip came following an incredible season, tying the Chicago Cubs’ MLB record for the most games won in a single season. They registered a 116-46 record and beat the all-time AL record!

Starting in 1976, the year before the team’s debut season, this book recounts these special moments through the words of the sports reporters who witnessed events as they happened.
