While the franchise joined the Major Leagues in 1977, they would wait until nearly the end of the century to experience their main period of success. 1995 was the year of their historic Division Series win over the Yankees and in 2001, the team reached the postseason four times, with future Hall of Famers Randy Johnson and Ken Griffey Jr. as part of the team.
