About this book

The book is filled with authentic newspaper reports from the Washington Post. It goes back as far as 1937 and leads up to the present day, covering lots of Eagles’ glory moments; Including the 40-22 victory over the Chiefs in the 2025 Superbowl.

Preceding the NFL/AFL merger, the Philadelphia Eagles won three championships, with back-to-back successes in 1948 and 1949. After their next win in 1960, the team experienced the third-longest championship drought in professional football with 57 seasons of no triumphs. However, they did come close in 1980, and 2004 was a particularly close Super Bowl game, with the Eagles being tied with the Patriots at the end of the third quarter. In the end, the Patriots would emerge champions with a 24-21 victory.

Often overlooked in the NFC East as serious contenders due to the major market teams that dominate the division, the Eagles tasted victory in 2018, and eventually saw Super Bowl success when they defeated the Patriots in the highest-scoring Super Bowl of all time in Minneapolis on February 4th.
