Starting back in 1996 when they were still known as the Oilers, the Tennessee Titans became immediately successful after their foundation. The team moved to Tennessee in 1997, playing two seasons before changing its name to the Tennessee Titans and establishing a new logo.
Their first season as the Titans saw all-pro quarterback Steve McNair lead them to the Super Bowl, where the Titans would go on to lose to St. Louis. The final play of the game saw what would become known as “The Tackle,” in which the Titans wide receiver Kevin Dyson was stopped a yard short of the goal line!
